Sean Completes the Boston Marathon

Sean completed the Boston Marathon! It was incredible feat of strength, drive, and endurance. The temperatures were in the high 80s before the race had started. But despite being totally fatigued and at times feeling like he couldn't go on, he pushed himself through to the finish line. Here are some photos from the day.

Sean's dad made a surprise visit. So the four of us began our journey at 10:30 to head out to Mile 20 out in Newton, on the green line.

We spent much of the day on the green line. It was packed and slow-going. But we survived. I mean, if Sean could run out there, ultimately sweating off 10 pounds (I'm not kidding, this really happened), we could tolerate a congested train for an hour or two.

At Mile 20. It was hot. And this was before Auric threw an incredible nap-deprived, fatigue-induced tantrum. He was right in the middle of this when Sean ran passed us. (I wonder if that encouraged Sean to get away from us.)

My hero.

The kids and I made it back on our own while Sean showered and changed. The kids were great on this long walk through downtown Boston and the Public Garden.
